Project W is a student-led group dedicated to inspiring and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration amongst women innovators and entrepreneurs across the Babson, Olin, and Wellesley (BOW) Colleges. We bring innovators, artists, engineers, and critical thinkers from all 3 BOW colleges to start high-level projects and foster meaningful relationships.

Our virtual community is a place for doers. Project W exists to let women learn, connect, and create: the three pillars of our community.

Inner Circle brings ambitious women from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines together to share their ideas and create meaningful relationships.

Project Learn delivers hands-on workshops and training, comprehensive startup resources, and industry expertise providing women with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to achieve their goals.

Project Pods is a semester-long incubator dedicated to helping pods of 3–4 BOW women get from the idea to prototype stage. Utilizing the Stanford Design Thinking methodology and the Lean Startup framework with guidance from experienced mentors and professors, Project Pods spend 15 weeks researching, validating, and iterating potential solutions to identified problems.

All of our programming strives to provide tangible skills and relevant resources for college students. Our goal is for anyone who attends our events to walk away with actionable and immediate next steps.

The Power of Community

The women of Project W are unified in their desire to create high impact. They both learn from and challenge one another. They hold each other accountable for their goals and dreams. They celebrate each other’s successes as if they are their own and share their mistakes without reservations. Our community of badass BOW women is built on trust, transparency, and friendship.

The Power of Passion Projects

Project W embraces passion projects. The beauty of passion projects is the lack of expectation to scale. This allows innovators to focus solely and deeply on the problem they’re trying to solve and the quality of their solution. Passion projects promote unconditional exploration, failure, and discovery.

In our pursuit of expanding the definition of entrepreneurship, we also aspire to highlight the kind of entrepreneurs that Forbes won’t. This includes the urban planner pioneering a sustainable city or the indie film director subverting genre conventions. Creative disruption exists in disciplines far beyond business and tech, and we seek to bring light to and learn from non-traditional entrepreneurs.

Our Vision is to become the first place female college students go to when they have an idea they want to turn into a reality.
